1. Hon. Francis Ebenya, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of Entekpa ward has been attacked by hoodlums suspected to be working with one the local government council chairmanship aspirant.
The incident which occurred at Ojanowa in Entekpa on Thursday February 17th left Ebenya hospitalized at an undisclosed hospital.
2. Benue state government is to access a $3million counterpart fund for immunization programmes in the state.
Governor Samuel Ortom who made this known over the weekend while flagging off the Polio Outbreak Response Vaccination Campaign in Makurdi said his government had already paid the sum of $100,000 counterpart fund to access the fund.
3. Three kinsmen of Benue State Governor, Samuel have been killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
The three which included two males and a female were killed Saturday at about 5 pm when the gunmen laid ambush and blocked the Iordye- Gbajimba road in Guma Local Government Area of Benue state.
4. Troops from Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, Saturday, made a huge breakthrough when they rescued 8 persons from kidnappers’ den.
The rescued locals, who hail from Agasha town, in Guma Local Government Area, were kidnapped on their farms by herdsmen on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022.
5. The Coalition of Southern and Middle Belt Youth Leaders Assembly, COSMBYLA, has called on security agencies in Benue State to ensure that the killers of Governor Samuel Ortom’s relatives are apprehended without delay.
President General of COSMBYLA, Goodluck Egwu Ibem, urged the troops of Operation Whirl Stroke to intensify efforts in keeping the state free of all criminal activities.
6. A top governorship aspirant in Benue State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Terver Akase today met with the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) in Makurdi.Mr Akase who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Jessica Akase said he was before the group to solicit their prayers and support in his desire to govern the state come 2023.
7. An 82- year-old grandmother, Chief Mrs. Veronica Nyiair Gajir has repeatedly emerged the consensus PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Ushongo LGA, of Benue State.
According to the publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bemgba Iortyom, the octogenarian emerged through consensus.
8. A meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Entekpa, a suburb of Adoka District to pick a consensus candidate ahead of the forthcoming local government election has once again ended in deadlock.
The meeting which was held on Sunday 20th February, 2022 and presided over by Paul Harris Ogbole, SAN, at Umogidi the ward headquarter ended in futility after PDP executives from the area were denied the right to vote as the Presiding SAN opted for option A4 method of voting.
9. Mr. Nathaniel Ikyur, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), to Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, has declared that his principal does not hate President Muhammad Buhari.
According to Ikyur, Ortom’s statements on the state of the nation should not be misconstrued for demeaning the office of the President.
10.A former lawmaker from Benue State, Hon Edo Ogbole was on Saturday kidnapped by gunmen in Otukpo.
