1. Benue State Deputy Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu has officially declared his intension to contest for the number one seat in the 2023 general election.

Engineer Abounu made the declaration to Christian community at Methodist Cathedral Of Christ The Light, South Bank, during a service for the Enthronement of RT. REV. Edoka AMUTA as the Bishop of Makurdi DIOCESE.

2. Following a sudden surge in electricity supply in Benue State,a 16-year-old girl, named Vivian Ochanya Emmanuela has lost her life.

The father of the 16-year-old teen, who was electrocuted, said five people died while several others were injured in the incident which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, February 24, at Rice Mill area of Wadata, Makurdi.

3. Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom has finally put to rest speculations making rounds about his next political ambition as he has indicated his interest to contest the Benue North-West senatorial seat over the weekend.
Reports said that the seat is currently occupied by Senator Emmanuel Orker Jev, who may seek a second mandate from members of his constituency.
4. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has won the 2021 Governor of the Year Award on Security.
The award was presented to him on Saturday, 5th March, 2022 by the management of Daily Independent Newspaper at an elaborate ceremony at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
5. A 42-year-old man Terhemen Iorbee has hung himself on a tree.

The deceased was an indigene of Mbakuha Council ward of Ushongo Local Government in Benue State.

6. The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro, has congratulated Arch. Sunday S.T. Echono on his appointment as Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
The Senator congratulates and wishes him well. He also thanked President Buhari for considering his Constituent for the job.
