1. The people of Igah in Ado LGA of Benue State have endorsed Comrade James Oche for another term as the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government.
National President of Igah Welfare Association, Mr. Onazi Otokpa, The Clan Head, Chief Ozoko Isenyo, Elder J.O Onazi and the Ado Supervisory Councilor for Education, Youths and Sports, Hon. Attah Ede among others spoke in unity on the need to sustain the commitment and developmental efforts that he had so far made.
2. A Benue man, identified as Sunday Twer, has stirred reactions on social media after a poster of his upcoming marriage to two beautiful women on the same day surfaced online.
In the poster that is becoming a growing sensation, Mr. Twer, a native of Benue State, announced he would be tying the knot with two women, namely Philomena Sunday and Jennifer Sunday on the 12th of March, 2022.
3. The Benue State Police Command said that it had charged 14 suspects to court for various crimes.
The Command Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, in a statement made available to journalists in Makurdi on Wednesday, said that the suspects were apprehended at various times in the state.
4. Civil rights advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), on Wednesday, condemned the brazen act of Fulani herdsmen who invaded some communities in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, forcibly displacing autochthonous dwellers to plan permanent settlement.
According to Joseph Anawah, a community leader and former media aide to an ex-governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam, the herders invaded the communities with more than 1,000 cows and settled at the Tse Azaye, Tse Agah, Tse Getim and Tse Iosun communities in the Tombo ward.
5. The PDP Chairmanship Candidate of Agatu Local Government Council has emerged. He is Hon Joseph Ngbede.
He polled 15 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Alh. Ibrahim Hussein (Galaxy) who scored 8 votes, while Hon Andrew Jacob(Manager) came a distance third with 4 votes. Hon Abu Baba scored 0 vote.
6. Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue has called for lasting peace betweem the Egba and Ologba clans in Agatu Local Government Area of the state.
Ortom made the call in Otukpo the headquarters of Otukpo LGA of the state, during the signing of the Agatu Natural Resource Peace Agreement between the Egba and the Ologba clans in Agatu.
7. Hon Ene Yusuf has emerged the consensus candidate for Councillor, Ogboju-Otahe Ward, Otukpo Local Government Council.
She will fly the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the LG council polls in the state.
8. Chief Michael Igoche Enenche (Okpotuche 1 of Orokam), one of the aspirants from Orokam for the Chairmanship position of Ogbadibo Local Government Council, has voluntarily dropped his ambition to contest for the position for the interest and unity of Orokam to produce the next chairman of the council.
He further pledged his unalloyed support for Mr. David Abah Umoru, and promised to work with him to succeed in office.
9. The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche was on Wednesday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State visit to the Residence of Pastor Ezekiel Atang of blessed memory to commiserate with and pray for his wife and children with other members of his family, Pastors and members of the Church.
Dr. Enenche, alongside his wife, Dr. Becky and Pastor Abba Godwin, were received by Pastor Ntia Ntia of Full Life Christian Center at Uyo Airport.
