1. Ten youths from Benue State are to be recruited into the United Nations Volunteers Programme, Governor Samuel Ortom has stated.

Governor Ortom disclosed this Monday, 21st February, 2022 at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi when he received a delegation from the UN Volunteers Programme led by Deputy Regional Manager of the programme, Mr Paul Manye.

2. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has said henceforth, all operators of illegal revenue collection checkpoints in Benue State will be treated like armed robbers when apprehended.

The Governor, who gave the warning Monday, February 21st, 2022 at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi while signing into law the amended Benue Internal Revenue Administration Law of the state., explained that revenue collection in the State had been contracted to consultants and urged interested persons to work with them, stressing that anyone caught operating illegally will be treated like a criminal.

3. A group known as Ado Socialites has endorsed Hon. James Oche for another term as Chairman of Ado LGA of Benue State.
The group said Oche should continue his good work in the local government.

4. The Force Commander (FC), Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Maj. Gen. Kevin Aligbe has said that the Nigerian Armed Forces intervention and partnership with civil authorities will bring the border conflicts between communities in Benue and Ebonyi States to a permanent end.

Major General Aligbe stated this yesterday while inspecting the extent of damage around the border communities of Odoke, Ugboghelle, Anmeka, Apa-Ogbozu and others that have been negatively impacted by the Effium/Ezza border crisis.

5. The students of Gateway Excel college Ogeneago Otukpa have emerged the winner of the Just concluded Benue south inter- school debate, organised by Genius Youth Initiative in collaboration
with Otukpo Writers club at St. Monica girls secondary school Otukpo.

The debate, which was held at various federal constituencies in Benue South at the preliminary stage of the competition had its quarter final and final on 18th February 2022 at St. Monica girls
secondary school Otukpo where the students of Gateway Excel college came first in the debate competition and were awarded a prize of a School bus which was donated by Hon. Dr. San Ode
