Benue: Omale Omale denies plans to defect to ADC, declares support for Alia

The immediate past Benue State Commissioner for Power, Renewable Energy, and Transport, Mr. Omale Omale, has denied any affiliation with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), reaffirming his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement on Monday in Makurdi, Omale, a founding member of the APC, said he has seen no reason to abandon the party despite recent media reports suggesting otherwise.

He emphasized that his years of dedication and sacrifices for the APC, particularly in helping to secure Governor Hyacinth Alia’s election in 2023, make it impossible for him to switch allegiance now.

“I overcame obstacles and defeated the enemy within and outside to ensure that we enthroned Gov. Hyacinth Alia in 2023,” Omale said.
“I was privileged to serve as a commissioner in the state. I have a bright future in the party, and I strongly believe my time is about to come. I cannot, in good conscience, turn to a political party that is yet to find its footing.”

Omale further described the reported link to the ADC as “outrightly untrue and deliberately designed to damage my good relationship with our dear governor.”

“I am a core democrat and believe we should play politics according to the rules. I am an Alia supporter and will continue to support him. He is the leader of my political party and the state, and I have no single reason to stop supporting him,” he added.
