Benue: Ortom approves relocation of LGEA primary school Iortyer

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has approved the relocation of LGEA Primary School Iortyer, situated in the same premises with NKST Church Iortyer in Makurdi.

The Governor gave the approval following a request by the resident pastor in charge of NKST Church Iortyer and state Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend Akpen Leva.

The CAN Chairman on Sunday, 20th February, 2022 during a thanksgiving service in his honour and Governor Samuel Ortom, had requested that the school be relocated to a safer place to avoid cases of accidents involving pupils in the course of crossing the major road.

The Governor who had earlier commissioned a multipurpose hall built by the Church for the generation of revenue and worship purposes, commended the development strides of the CAN Chairman and urged other denominations to emulate him.

While appreciating the honour done him by the Church, the Governor described the CAN Chairman as a selfless, hardworking and humble servant of God who had united the five blocs of CAN in the state for the peace and unity of the Church.

Governor Ortom who also attended a thanksgiving service to mark the 60th birthday anniversary of his friend, Godwin Ajah, held at Holy Ghost Church Makurdi, congratulated the celebrant and prayed God to continue to grant him more fruitful years in order to continue to add value to the economic development of the state.

The Governor said when he came to Makurdi from Gboko in 1984 and became salesman with Gyado Foods, Godwin Ajah and his late brother were his major customers and accounted for his multiple promotions from salesman to sales manager within a year.

Earlier at the thanksgiving service at NKST Church Iortyer and commissioning of the multipurpose hall, Reverend Akpen Leva said the Hall, which was the former worship center, would be used to generate revenue and for worship purposes.

The CAN Chairman said he remains committed to his service to God and mankind, stressing that he will continue to judiciously utilize resources at his disposal for the development of the Church.
