The Benue State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commnended the take-off of His Excellency, Samuel Ortom, in his second term of office as Governor of the state.
The party observes that the governor has hit the ground running in his second coming to office and has left few in doubt that he means serious business.
It is a thing of immense pride to us that he has constituted his government in record time with an assemblage of proven technocrats and administrators to man the various MDAs in the state.
The result so far, even at this early stage, can be measured in ongoing works across the state on infrastructural development projects such as township roads, some of which are a continuation from the governor’s first term in office.
Similarly, a repositioning of critical agencies and parastatals of government has breathed freshness into public life and is charting a new course in the administration of public utilities and social amenities in the state.
The leadership of the PDP in the state is equally satisfied with the advocacy initiatives Gov. Ortom is making to various groups both at home and in the diaspora.
It is our understanding that such initiatives of the governor are fostering unity of purpose within the Benue community towards the attainment of peace and security being prerequisites to progress and development.
We must also commend the deliberate allignment by the governor of the policies of his administration with the manifesto of our great party, a development which affords the party opportunity to monitor performance of government, in line with global best practices of democracy.
PDP has implicit faith in the vision, capacity and will of the Ortom administration to provide good governance to the people of Benue State and leave in place a solid legacy.
