Benue PDP governorship primary election [LIVE UPDATE]

All is now set for the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State.

Security agencies are seen in all accreditation venues for the delegates from three senatorial districts of the state while the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi remains busy.

Though, the process is yet to formally begin, however there are indications of alignment and realignment as serious horse trading is currently ongoing between contenders and delegates.

Six aspirants including Governor Samuel Ortom are expected to participate in the exercise with an ad-hoc delegates of 828.

 

Among those jostling for the sole ticket of the party are: Samuel Ortom, John Tondu, Paul Orhih.

 

As at 3:30pm the election venue was still scanty as the delegates were yet to arrive.

7:30:

All is set for the PDP governorship primaries at the main bowl of the Aper Aku stadium Makurdi.

However accreditation of delegates is nearing completion at designated areas within Makurdi metropolis.

Delegates are arriving at the venue in their numbers after the completion of accreditation that was hitch free.

BENUE APC GUBER PRIMARY ELECTION:

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to logistical issues encountered by the Benue Gubernatorial Primary Election Committee, accreditation and voting for the All Progressives Congress’ gubernatorial election in Benue have been delayed.

The committee is however working round the clock to surmount the identified hitches so as to allow delegates exercise their franchise.

Benue APC and the committee express their profound apologies to the delegates and members of the public who are interested parties to this cause.

Accreditation and voting will commence as soon as these issues are addressed.

Be assured that Benue APC will not renege on its promise to conduct free, fair and credible party primaries hence, we urge the public not to panic at this rough start.
