Benue State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rose from its Executive Committee meeting held earlier today at the party’s State Secretariat in Makurdi chaired by State Chairman, Sir John Ngbede adopting the following resolutions;
1. That all organs of the party should mobilise and kick-start campaigns towards victory at the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in the state scheduled for May 7th, 2022.
2. That officials of the party must conduct all its affairs strictly in conformity with the stipulations of law as enshrined in its constitution (As Amended in 2017).
3. That relevant officials of the party must ensure a level playing field and be fair to all persons aspiring to elections on its platform.
4. That the party is favourably inclined to gender sensitivity and urges women to come out and aspire to elective positions for purpose of gender balance in power.
5. That officials of the party seeking to run in elections on its platform must resign their current positions in line with provisions of the law.
6. That details of timelines and requirements prescribed for aspirants to elections on the party’s platform are available at its State Secretariat in Makurdi.
7. That deceased officials of the party should be replaced at their various levels in line with provisions of the law.
8. That all members of the party should update their voter status with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
