Benue rep, Godday Samuel set to return to PDP from Labour Party

Indication has emerged that the House of Representatives member for Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Hon. Godday Odagboyi Samuel would soon reunite with his former PDP family.

This was made clear during his funeral oration at the Requiem Mass in honour of late Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Benue State, Dr Emmanuel Saleh Ikwulono at LGEA Primary School, Obagaji, Agatu Local Government Area on Friday.

In his soul touching speech, Hon Godday said; “Let me welcome my leader, His Excellency, the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom and his Deputy, Engr Benson Abounu, let me also welcome my brother and the State Chairman of our great party, PDP, Hon Sir John Ngbede, I repeat, our great party …..”.

He added that, some are born great, others acquire greatness through struggle, saying the deceased was one of Agatu very best who struggled against all odds to attain greatness.

Although during a funeral ceremony, in Benue state, it is morally wrong for anyone to clap hands, but I could hear a very thunderous applause from behind shortly after Hon Godday mentioned the phrase; “Our party, PDP”, suggestive of their happiness to receive their reps member into PDP fold.

Hon Godday, a very young man, loved by all and sundry in his federal constituency because of his Humanitarian and philanthropic services and is described as a politician who can win any election regardless to his party affiliation.

Godday left PDP to Labour Party, LP shortly after losing the party’s National Assembly election in 2019, an exercise he described as fraudulent.

During the National Assembly election, most people in Apa and Agatu, including, PDP members jettisoned their political difference and voted massively for him, an indication of their love for the young man, winning his election and currently representing the federal constituency at the Green Chamber of the 9th National Assembly.

The reunion of Hon Godday with his former party, PDP would bring to an end the existence of any opposition party in the federal constituency and would play a vital role in the installation of a successor to the number one political seat of the state in 2023.
