Troops of the Exercise Enduring Peace III, comprising the 72nd battalion and soldiers of the 401 Brigade, in collaboration with volunteer members of the community, successfully rescued seven kidnapped victims in the Igaji community of Ohimini Local Government Area, Benue State.

The victims, who were abducted on October 9, with some reportedly on their way to the farm, were located and rescued thanks to a diligent search effort launched by the troops, based on credible intelligence received about the kidnappers’ movements around the Igaji general area.

Security Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia, Chief Joseph Har, commended the joint efforts of the troops and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), stating, “The troops in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) swiftly responded, combed the area in search of the kidnapped victims and rescued seven persons.”

Chief Har further detailed the rescue operation, mentioning that upon encountering the superior power of the troops, the criminals fled the scene, leaving behind the kidnapped victims.
