If IDOMA VOICE readers were to be electorate that will populate the senatorial election in Benue South on February 16, former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, is the next senator to represent the zone in the red chamber of the national assembly.

This is as they have voted overwhelmingly in an online poll conducted by this newspaper to show their support for the senatorial aspiration of Moro on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

What informed the question for this poll? All the candidates have been traversing virtually all parts of Benue South canvassing for votes ahead of the poll slated for Saturday. At every turn, they are seen and heard telling all who cared to listen how they are the most qualified for the job.

These postulations coupled with the fact that the epic election is already lurking led IDOMA VOICE to ask its readers who they think is the best among the candidates that would represent them at the senate.

Although, sixteen persons have indicated interest in the race, but political observers have narrowed it down to three persons, considering their political strengths and parties.

The options were as follow: Abba Moro of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mike Onoja of the Social Democratic Party and Steve Lawani of the All Progressives Congress.

How they fared: This particular poll, which came on stream on Saturday, February 9, 2019, was closed by 12 noon (local time) on Monday February 11, 2019.

Between the time frame, there were a total of 50,367 votes (these included votes collated from the website, social media pages and groups).

According to Ben Idah, Editor, Idoma Voice, at the end of the collation, 76% went for Moro of the PDP, 11% voted for Steve Lawani of the APC, 5% opted for Mike Onoja, while 8 % were indifferent.

For the comments generated by the poll, a total of 3,000 raked in.

The gross figure of 3,000 ultimately thinned to 2,780 valid comments when scrutinized.

From these reliable comments, 2,500 respondents still typed Abba Moro in the comment box.

Meanwhile, some respondents took advantage of the freedom afforded them by the comment box to unequivocally state their reservations about the three top contenders.

Some cogent reactions worthy of note: Out of the total 3,000 comments generated, there were vital postulations made by some readers, which cannot be overlooked.

Here are some comments collated from various platforms raw and uncut.
