Delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will today elect who would fly the party’s flag in the Benue South Senatorial election in 2019.
The primary of the party would hold today in Otukpo, the powerhouse of the senatorial district.
Three persons are jostling for the sole ticket of the party.
Among the contenders are: immediate past Minister of Interior, Comrade Patrick Abba Moro (Ogig’Omebe K’Idoma), former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Chief Mike Okibe Onoja (Akanaba K’Idoma) and current lawmaker representing Ogbadibo State Constituency, Hon Joseph Boniface Ojobo.
While Moro hailed from Okpokwu, Onoja is a native of Ado while Ojobo hailed from Itabono, Owukpa in Ogbadibo.
Already, delegates from across the 9 local governments that formed the zone are already in town ahead of the election.
