PRESS STATEMENT

I, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, the Senator-Elect of Benue South Senatorial District, wish to congratulate the good people of the zone on the successful conduct of the 2019 general elections.

I sincerely thank the people for electing me the Senator to represent them at the red chamber of the National Assembly.

I acknowledge the support of all sons and daughters of the zone irrespective of party affiliations.

I particularly thank people who did not support me yet voted for me. I promise not to betray the trust reposed in me.

I appreciate the Independent National Electoral Commission for conducting a free, fair and transparent election in Benue South Senatorial District.

I also thank the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the confidence reposed in me to fly the party’s flag at the poll.

I remain grateful to all the security personnel drafted to the zone for ensuring a hitch-free exercise.

I thank all civil society organizations, student unions, religious organizations, academia, trade unions, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba and Igala communities in Benue South for the show of love and support.

I thank the media for accurate reportage before, during and after the election.

I want to assure my people that their criticisms showed me my fault lines from which I would learn to carry everybody along in the discharge of my duty.

Finally, I ask constituents, especially those who contested the election with me to accept my olive hand to join me to create a virile egalitarian society in which they system works for all.

With me as your Senator, I assure you that the future of our zone is secured.

Comrade Abba Moro
Senator-Elect
Benue South Senatorial District
