The senatorial aspiration of Comrade Abba Moro, on Wednesday received another boost following the endorsement of his candidacy by members of the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Benue South Caucus.
The union said they settled for Comrade Moro, as the next senator representing Benue Zone C following his giant strides as Okpokwu LG chairman and Minister of Interior.
In their separate speeches, leaders of the two groups said they would be mobilizing their members to vote massively for Comrade Moro and other PDP candidates come Saturday.
Comrade Augustine Abutu, Benue State Deputy President of NULGE, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said the union believed Moro remains the only candidate out of all those jostling for the senatorial seat that would bring the needed development to Benue South.
“Before the last postponement of the polls, we had met and resolved to support all the candidates of the PDP. We can’t afford to make any mistake that we would end up regretting tomorrow.
Also speaking, Sule Ekele, NUT Chairman of Ogbadibo L.G.C who spoke for his colleagues said teachers in Benue South decided to settle For Moro after painstakingly reviewing the antecedents of all the aspirants.
Comrade Ekele said Moro would forever be remembered for giving Benue South sons and daughters jobs as Minister of Interior.
He, therefore, called on people of the senatorial district to come out en mass on Saturday and vote for Abba Moro.
He enjoined the people to vote for the PDP across board as the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know.
In his response, Moro thanked the union for the endorsement. He assured them that their efforts would be greatly rewarded through quality representation when he gets to the senate.
