Benue stands still as James Oche picks nomination forms for Ado chairmanship

Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, on Monday, recorded unprecedented traffic as mammoth crowd thronged out to accompany Comrade James Oche, Chairman, Ado caretaker committee to the state secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Oche was at the State office of PDP, to pick the expression of interest and nomination forms for the chairmanship of Ado local government council ahead of the forthcoming council polls in Benue.

He was received by the state Chairman of the party, Sir John Ngbede.

Hundreds of party faithful and opinion leaders, cut across different tribes and ethnicities, political and non-partisan supporters, as well as admirers, showed up at the PDP secretariat, Makurdi, in solidarity with him.

Hon. Oche, who was accompanied by the Member, Benue State House of Assembly representing Ado State Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Agnes Uloko and other key political stakeholders of state affluence, like Hon. Andrew Otokpa, Former Vice Chairman, Hon. Comr. Gideon Obande, Hon. Alex Okpokwu, former Chairman, Engr Ogaba Oja, Comr. Moses Oja, Secretary, among others, arrived the secretariat to the admiration of all who heralded his good works.

Many who were seated stepped out to see the man who was renowned for unprecedented rural transformation of Ado Local Government within just 3 months. It was chanted in some of the political songs that, Hon. Oche is the God-sent leader for Ado.

Receiving the aspirant and his entourage in his office, the PDP state Chairman, Ngbede, promised a level playing ground for all the contestants, adding that the party would try all within its powers to guide against imposition of candidates and ensure rancour-free primaries for all aspirants at various levels.

Interacting with his teeming supporters after securing the forms, Hon. Oche appreciated the people for their support and promised not to let them down.

According to him, the development of Ado was a collective responsibility of all, and all stakeholders and supporters must work in one accord to sustain the drive through the election and beyond.

It may be recalled that, Hon. James Oche in a unanimous decision reached by the Ado PDP Caucus days ago, emerged the party’s consensus candidate for the November 30 election.

Highpoints of the event was the presentation of the two forms by Hon. Oche to the admiration of supporter who cheered graciously.
