Following the gruesome murder of his older brother, Dr. Terkura Suswam, Senator representing Benue North-East Senatorial District, Gabriel Suswam has called for an end to the state of insecurity pervading the Sankera axis of Benue State.
Senator Suswam spoke when members of the State Working Committee of the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of State Chairman, Sir John Ngbede, paid a condolence visit to him at his Makurdi residence earlier today.
He lamented the continuing insecurity in Sankera which comprises Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo local government areas of the state regretting that the late Dr. Suswam had to pay the supreme price, a development which he said should mark a turning point in the situation.
Dr. Terkura Suswam was shot to death by unidentified gunmen at his country home in Anyiin, Logo LGA of the state last Tuesday leading to widespread outcry across Benue State and beyond.
Earlier in a remark, Sir John Ngbede, had recalled the exemplary lifestyle of the late Dr. Suswam whom he said chose to live in Anyiin away from city life, where he dedicated himself to the pursuit of the peace, security and progress of his people.
Sir Ngbede, while decrying the death of the renown philanthropist, agreed with Senator Suswam’s that the death was one too many and the activities of criminal elements terrorising the Sankera area had to be brought to an end.
