Tse-Amua community, Mbadwem, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, was heavy with grief on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, as the bodies of two brothers, Terseer Gwa and Shaapera Gwa, were laid to rest after being brutally murdered by suspected armed Fulani militia.

The victims, known for their diligence and peaceful nature, were reportedly attacked and killed in cold blood while trying to make an honest living on their ancestral land.

Their deaths have sent shockwaves through the community, sparking outrage and deep sorrow.

Many residents have once again raised concerns about the rising insecurity in Guma and other parts of Benue.

“We are tired of burying our loved ones,” a heartbroken family member said.

“When will this end? When will the government fulfil its duty to protect us?”

The community is appealing to the government at all levels to act swiftly and decisively to end the cycle of violence and protect rural communities across Benue State.
