Professor Tor Joe Iorapuu, the Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University, Makurfdi, has called on the ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities) to call off the prolonged strike.
Iorapuu made the appeal on Monday, August 1, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Chaplaincy, Benue State University, Makurdi, in a thanksgiving Mass for the celebration of his birthday.
The Vice-Chancellor said that being a VC of a functional university where students and staff would be present at the celebration of his birthday party would have made him happier.
He said that education is the major productive system in the society, but the strike action has managed to make it less.
