The Benue State Government has declared that it is not ready to welcome killer herdsmen fleeing from southwest region.
The state made this known through the Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Terver Akase, on Sunday.
Akase said that the state will not receive armed herdsmen fleeing from South-West.
Akase stated that the state Governor, Samuel Ortom, had on several occasions said any cattle owner who wanted to reside in the state must ranch his animals.
Akase reiterated the government stand on Sunday saying, “Benue State will not receive armed herdsmen fleeing from the South-West. As Governor Samuel Ortom has repeatedly stated, any cattle owner who wants to reside in Benue State must ranch his animals. Open grazing remains prohibited in the state.”
