Benue youths nab notorious criminal ‘Anini’ at Makurdi supermarket

Youths from the Yaikyo area of Makurdi, the Benue State capital, have apprehended a suspected notorious criminal known as ‘Anini’ at a popular supermarket in the area.

The suspect was captured on the night of Thursday, June 26, 2025, during a heavy downpour at Agbatse Supermarket, located behind Jesical Filling Station in the Yaikyo axis of the city.

The operation was carried out by the Yaikyo community security team, led by youth leader Mr. Frank Igbakua, who coordinated the successful arrest.

Following his capture, the suspect was immediately handed over to Operation Zenda, a special tactical unit of the Nigeria Police Force, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Residents of the area have commended the swift and courageous response of the youths, hailing the action as a significant step in the ongoing fight to rid Makurdi and its surrounding communities of criminal activities.
