Biafra: Abaribe exposes Ekpa, others for using sit-at-home to make money

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South, has raised serious concerns about the ongoing sit-at-home orders, claiming that they have transformed into a lucrative money-making scheme orchestrated by Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu.

In an exclusive interview with Channels TV, Senator Abaribe shed light on the motivations behind the continuation of the sit-at-home orders, suggesting that financial interests are at the heart of the matter.

Abaribe acknowledged that leaders from the South-East have initiated discussions with the government, notably engaging with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, to address the protracted detention of Nnamdi Kanu.

Abaribe articulated his perspective, stating, “Evidently, the individual behind this, who is based in Finland, disavowed the cessation of the order and imposed additional conditions, indicating that the orders will persist until a meeting is arranged in Finland with him.”

Citing a financial incentive as a driving force, Abaribe remarked, “It is apparent that due to the financial gains they derive from this situation, they are not inclined to cease it, turning it into a profitable enterprise.”

Highlighting the extent of these monetary pursuits, the senator added, “We have observed advertisements online urging individuals to contribute funds for the so-called liberation of Biafra.”

Abaribe’s revelations shed light on a critical dimension of the ongoing sit-at-home orders, underscoring how the situation has evolved from its original intent into a potentially profitable endeavor for certain individuals. The allegations of financial motives could reshape the narrative surrounding these orders and the actions of those behind them. As discussions between South-East leaders and the government continue, the underlying dynamics of the situation will likely remain in the spotlight.
