Biafra: How Igbos shutdown the world on 30th anniversary (Photos)

May 30th, 2018 stay-at-home protest by Biafran separatists worldwide to mark the 30th anniversary reportedly crippled and shutdown major activities in cities and towns in Nigeria, Europe and America.

In Nigeria, most South-east Streets were empty and markets, banks, schools were closed and social media on fire with the hashtag #BiafraHerosday to mark the abortive attempt in 1967 to gain independence for the region that led to a bitter and traumatic three-year civil war in which more than one million people were killed.

The was a warning issued against the secessionists regarding street protests and security forces are on patrol all day.
