Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Minority Leader, has sought the permission of President Muhammadu Buhari to negotiate with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Kalu, a former governor of Abia State said he would prevail on Kanu to drop the agitation for Biafra and bring him back to Nigeria, if given the permission.
In a statement he issued, the lawmaker expressed optimism that Kanu would listen to him.
“If the Federal Government permits me, I will go to the United Kingdom and negotiate with Nnamdi Kanu to return to Nigeria.
“I will convince him to drop the agitation for Biafra because our people don’t need it,” Kalu said.
