The Executive Chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), and Chairman State Joint Revenue Committee, Mr. Andrew Ayabam has ordered the termination of all revenue contracts awarded by Local Government Council for the collection of revenue in designated urban areas in the state.
The chairman in a Press Release issued today said “all such contractors are by this directive advised to desist from any form of revenue collection as it is now illegal.
“Any one found collecting revenue in the name of Local Government shall be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.” He added.
