The Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), today paid host to the National President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Dame Gladys Olajumoke Simplice at its corporate headquarters in Makurdi.
The president who came into the state on familiarization visit and to inaugurate the state Executive Council of CITN, commended BIRS for the support for CITN and appreciated him for sponsoring BIRS staff to the just concluded 32nd Annual General Conference od the Institute.
Dame Simplice whle promig partnersip with BIRS in capacity building for staff through soon to be launched Tax Academy in Illorin Kwara State, commended the Executive Chairman, Mr. Andrew Ayabam, who is also a fellow of the institute for upholding proffesionalism in the administration of tax in the state.
Receiving the National President, Mr. Ayabam said he was particularly happy about the visit and the proposed partnership with CITN on building staff capacity and promised that he will always partner with the Institute andthe district in particular.
He also pledged to pay subscription fees and dues for all qualified staff, even has he promised to work consciously towards ensuring more staff qualify, in order to boost membership.
Mr. Ayabam also promised a facility in the permanent site of corporate headquarters of BIRS, for the establishment of an exam centre.
