BIRS Taskforce arrest culprit for extortion

In continuance of its fight against illegal tax activity, the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS)Task Force on illegal tax activity, today arrested one culprit for illegal tax activity.

The culprit, one Tsavwua Terese, was arrested earlier today by the task force while extorting money from unsuspecting taxpayers at an illegal revenue point in Tyowanye, Buruku Local Government Area.

He was apprehended in possession of fake receipts bearing National Haulages from Federal Ministry of Transport and Forum of Mobile Advert.

Also found on the suspect , was an identity card belonging to the Motorcycle Hirers Association and a suspension letter from the association bearing his name.

He had since been handed over to the Police for subsequent prosecution.
