Ministry
While still working as a lecturer, Abioye aspired to start a technological firm to secure his finances. However, his life took a transformative turn when he met David Oyedepo, the future founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, during a Christian Student Fellowship in the 1980s. Inspired by Oyedepo’s passion for God, Abioye’s relationship with him evolved from a brotherly friendship into one of spiritual mentorship.
After Oyedepo relocated to Lagos, Abioye became the senior pastor of the Garden of Faith, Kaduna, which was the church’s former national headquarters. His leadership role solidified when he was consecrated as a bishop in the church in 1993. He later became the first Vice President of Living Faith Church Worldwide and currently serves as the senior pastor of Living Faith Church, Goshen City, in Abuja, where he leads a congregation of over 30,000 worshippers.
Abioye’s influence in the church community extends beyond his congregation; notable figures, including former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, have attended worship services at his church.
