In an official statement dated August 22 and endorsed by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, President Bola Tinubu has designated Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), effective from August 24, 2023.
As part of this directive, President Tinubu has also initiated a 90-day pre-retirement leave for Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, the current Director-General/CEO of NIMC, starting from August 24, 2023. This leave will culminate in his formal retirement from service on November 24, 2023.
The statement additionally discloses that President Tinubu has granted approval for the temporary appointment of Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of NIMC for a 90-day term, commencing on August 24, 2023. Following this interim period, a full four-year term as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO will commence on November 24, 2023.
Furthermore, President Tinubu has given his endorsement for the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub as the Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). This decision comes subsequent to the conclusion of the tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi.
These appointments are effective immediately.
