The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist, Peter Falola, also known as ‘Black Jesus,’ for allegedly assaulting a resident, committing arson, and vandalizing property worth over N1.4 million in the Agbado area of the state.

In a statement sighted by IDOMA VOICE on Tuesday, the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that Falola was apprehended on January 20, 2025, following an incident five days earlier.

On January 15, Falola reportedly stormed the home of Oladipupo Adeniran on Ifelodun Street, Ago Ajeri, around 9:00 a.m., threatening to burn the house down. During the altercation, he allegedly struck Adeniran on the head with an empty beer bottle, leaving him injured.

As neighbors rushed Adeniran to the hospital, Falola is said to have set fire to the victim’s apartment, destroying items such as a 6kg gas cylinder, a ceiling fan, an Itel Android phone, a set of chairs, and eight aluminum windows. Both the sitting room and bedroom ceilings were also damaged, with total losses estimated at over N1.4 million.

Odutola stated, “Falola invaded the victim’s home, made violent threats, and allegedly stabbed him multiple times after smashing a bottle on his head. He also set the victim’s clothes on fire, causing significant damage.”

The suspect was arrested after the incident was reported at the Agbado Police Station. Investigators have since visited the crime scene, and Falola is currently undergoing interrogation.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Abeokuta for further investigation.
