The Benue State Police Command in Benue has confirmed the invasion of Tse-Haaga village, in Mbabai, Guma Local Government Area by unknown gunmen.
Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that four persons were killed.
He added that three were wounded in the attack carried out by yet-to-be identified assailants.
The spokesman, however, assured that the command had deployed more personnel to restore peace
A resident, Clement Haaga, recalled that the gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, stormed the village in four motorbikes around 5pm on Tuesday.
Haaga revealed that they opened fire on people in sight, killing one person on the spot and injuring others.
Two of the injured persons died on their way to the hospital.
The rest are receiving treatment.
