At least three lives were lost, and over 51 individuals, including a district head, were abducted in a recent bandit attack that targeted parts of Zamfara State.
The incident occurred in Bagega, a mining village in the state, where armed assailants opened fire, resulting in casualties.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, could not be reached for a statement regarding the incident.
However, Malam Abubakar Uba, the Village Head, confirmed the attack and provided insight into the events.
He mentioned that the gunmen first abducted the district head and three members of his household before proceeding to kidnap more individuals in the village.
“They stormed the village on dozens of motorcycles, and their first stop was the District’s Head residence.
A few of them took him away with three members of his household before they entered the town and unleashed more harm,” Uba revealed.
