Bobrisky relocated to Kirikiri Prison from Ikoyi

Nigerian social media personality, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been discreetly relocated to Kirikiri prison following his recent sentencing.

Reports indicate that the Nigerian Correctional Service transferred Bobrisky from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to Kirikiri prison over the past weekend. This move was attributed to Kirikiri’s larger capacity and enhanced security measures.

A source clarified that such transfers are standard procedure, considering Kirikiri’s ability to accommodate more inmates compared to Ikoyi.

Last week, after Bobrisky’s sentencing, he was taken to the Correctional center for a six-month term. The NCoS announced his placement in the male section of the facility, based on his self-identification as male during court proceedings.

Despite concerns about his safety due to his gender identity, Correctional officers assured the public of his protection.

A subsequent examination by the NCoS revealed no evidence of gender reassignment surgery, affirming Bobrisky’s unchanged male biological characteristics.

Earlier this month, Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on charges of currency mutilation and Naira abuse. Despite pleading guilty and appealing for leniency, the judge upheld the sentencing.

Notable personalities such as Charly Boy, Yomi Fabiyi, Eniola Ajao, James Brown, Paulo Okoye, and others have expressed their support for him.
