Bobrisky was kept in privilege cell after gender exam reveals both male, female organs – Prison officer

A Deputy Comptroller of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS), Emby Anukwara, has revealed that crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was placed in a ‘privilege cell’ during his time in Kirikiri Prison.

According to Anukwara, this decision was made after a medical examination determined that Bobrisky had both male and female sex organs. The disclosure was made during a session at the correctional center while addressing members of the House of Representatives investigative committee.

The committee had visited the facility as part of their investigation into allegations regarding Bobrisky’s imprisonment. Bobrisky had been sentenced to six months in prison by a Lagos court for naira mutilation.

However, in a leaked conversation by social media personality Martins Ortse, aka VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky allegedly claimed that he never served his sentence in Kirikiri Prison, but rather in a lodge due to the influence of a ‘godfather.’ Despite this claim, an investigative panel concluded there was no evidence to suggest Bobrisky spent his jail term outside the prison.

Anukwara, while addressing the committee, stated: “I am Emby Anukwara, Deputy Comptroller of Corrections and officer in charge of Medium when Bobrisky was brought in here.

“On April 12, 2024, Bobrisky arrived at about 10:30 pm, and due to the late hour, we could not complete the necessary documentation.

“Given the uncertainty surrounding his gender, we took precautionary measures and assigned him a single cell in the privilege ward—specifically, room 2 in the P-ward. The following day, after proper admission, he underwent a medical examination, where the doctor and matron confirmed that he had both male and female organs.”
