Details reveal that boko haram has attacked Garkida Town in Gombi Local Government Area, Adamawa State on Friday evening. The attackers stormed the town in 10 gun trucks and several motorbikes carrying at least two persons.
They set ablaze several houses, which included those of prominent sons of Garkida, Market as well as Churches namely The Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (Hausa: Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), Living Faith Church as well as the Anglican Church. Additionally, the Rural health center and 2 ambulances were burnt down while another 2 were taken by the insurgents.
Sadly also, 2 soldiers lost their lives while civilian casualties are yet to be ascertained. The Police Station and Barracks were also burnt.
Information further indicates that some people from the same town of Garkida who were recruited by the insurgents were the ones selectively showing the insurgents which properties to set ablaze.
