Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan stabbed during attempted robbery at Mumbai home

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, underwent surgery on Thursday after being repeatedly stabbed during an attempted burglary at his Mumbai residence, his public relations team confirmed.

“There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence,” the team stated, urging fans to remain patient.

Khan’s wife, Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor, reassured the public, saying, “Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in the hospital. The rest of the family is doing fine.”

The actor, known for his roles in the 2001 hit Dil Chahta Hai and Netflix’s crime series Sacred Games, is the son of former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and legendary actress Sharmila Tagore.

According to Niraj Uttamani, a senior official at Lilavati Hospital, Khan sustained six injuries, including two deeper wounds.

The Press Trust of India reported that police have launched an investigation and were seen conducting forensic examinations at Khan’s home.

Khan has appeared in over 70 films and television series and remains one of Bollywood’s most celebrated stars. Fans and colleagues have expressed their support for the actor during his recovery.
