Nigerian forward Victor Boniface made an impressive impact for Bayer Leverkusen as he scored his first goal for the club in a commanding 4-0 victory over West Ham in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Boniface, who recently made the switch to Leverkusen from Belgian side Union SG, showcased his talent by finding the back of the net in the 38th minute, contributing to his team’s convincing 3-0 lead.
The 22-year-old received a perfectly timed long pass from his teammate Florian Wirtz and executed a spectacular volley, placing the ball into the far corner of the net.
Following his standout performance, Boniface was substituted with 13 minutes remaining in the match, allowing him to receive applause from the fans for his remarkable display.
As Leverkusen continues their preparations for the upcoming season, they will face FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen in the first round of the DFB Cup on Saturday, 12 August.
In his previous season with Union SG in the Belgian topflight, Boniface impressed with nine goals in 37 appearances, showcasing his potential as a promising young talent.
