BREAKIN: FIFA announces Saudi Arabia as host for 2034 World Cup
FIFA has officially confirmed that Saudi Arabia will host the 2034 Men’s World Cup, while Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will co-host the 2030 tournament.
To commemorate the centenary of the competition, three matches in the 2030 World Cup will also take place in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
The host nations for both World Cups were confirmed during Wednesday’s Extraordinary FIFA Congress meeting, which was held virtually and attended by representatives from all 211 FIFA member nations.
The announcement was made after two separate votes.
The first vote confirmed Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina as the hosts for the 2030 centenary celebrations, while the second vote confirmed Spain, Portugal, and Morocco as co-hosts for the 2030 World Cup and Saudi Arabia as the host for the 2034 edition.
