BREAKING: 2 dead, scores displaced as crisis rock Benue communities

No fewer than 2 persons have been reportedly killed as fresh crisis rock communities between Makurdi and Gboko areas of Benue State.

3 others were said to have been  kidnapped and scores of people have been displaced due to the attacks according to sources.

Travelers have also been left stranded and advised not to use the route till normalcy is restored.

Below is an excerpt of the notice circulated by popular Benue Human Rights activist, Ukan Ukurugh;

“MAKURDI TO GBOKO TRAVELERS SHOULD AVOID THE ROUTE NOW

sketchy information reaching me now has it that travelers along makurdi gboko shortly after the Ethanol company like 3 kilometers after are stranded at the moment, as I am informed it’s due to some clash between yet to be identified group or person’s that has left 2 people dead and 3 kidnapped while houses are burnt and people displaced. This has led to some of the villagers blocking the road to call the attention of the government over the situation.

Travelers this morning plying that road are advised to halt their trip until the road is clear.” He posted.
