No fewer than 8 persons have been killed and several others injured after suspected herdsmen attacked Abagana community near an IDP camp in Benue State.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the incident happened Thursday night around 9.
A resident of the community told IDOMA VOICE that a man with his wife and 4 children were all wiped out in the deadly attack.
He said, “Suspected fulani bandits attacked Abagana opposite the IDP camp last night as about 2100hrs. So far, 8 corpses including women and children have been recovered and 8 others seriously injured were evacuated to hospital for treatment. Some of the bodies were beheaded and the heads. taken away. The bushes are still being combed for more victims.
“The casualty figure may likely rise as 3 other persons were fatally shot and may not survive the injuries in the chest.”
