Mr Kyari will be handed over to the NDLEA for onward prosecution, our sources said.
“He was arrested by the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department because he failed to appear twice following invitation that the NDLEA was looking for him,” a police chief said. “He is with the AIG FCIID now and will be sent to the NDLEA shortly.”
The official said Mr Kyari’s pending case on Internet fraud charges will proceed separately.
“They want to formalise the ongoing probe by PSC before handing him over for prosecution and extradition,” an official added.
Mr Kyari’s arrest came hours after he was declared wanted by the NDLEA on charges that he had ties to drug cartels strong-arming Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria channel.
