Catholic priest, Rev Fr Peter Amodu has been freed from captivity, IDOMA VOICE reports.
IDOMA VOICE reports that the incident occurred on Wednesday night along Otukpo-Ugbokolo Road, when the armed men ambushed and whisked the priest to an unknown destination.
The victim was on his way to Okwungagga -Ugbokolo to celebrate Holy Mass when the incident occurred.
However, Rev. Fr. Joseph Aboyi Itodo, the Diocesan Chancellor has said the cleric has been freed.
The said Fr. Amodu was released unhurt Friday night.

Rev Fr. Peter was kidnapped on 6th of July, 2022 at about 3.00pm along Otukpo Ugbokolo Highway, Benue State, was released unharmed today, 8 July, 2022 at about 8.30pm.
We express our deepest appreciation to God for the safe release of our priest.
We sincerely thank all the priests, religious, lay faith and all people of goodwill who showed strong solidarity and offered prayers for the speedy and safe release of our brother.
