Dr. Asema Msuega, the Medical Doctor overseeing the General Hospital in Sakera, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, has been released from captivity.
Dr. Msuega was abducted by unknown armed individuals, alongside an unidentified woman, while on duty at Ugbaam Council Ward LGA. The release was confirmed by the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Benue State.
The kidnappers contacted Dr. Msuega’s wife and, realizing her challenging circumstances with a sick baby in the hospital, instructed her to bring whatever she could manage. She raised one million naira (N1 million) for them. Subsequently, the kidnappers released Dr. Msuega unharmed at the hospital last night, despite their demands not being met.
Dr. Msuega and an unidentified woman were abducted on Sunday afternoon around 1 pm while en route to supervise the State Malaria Control (SMC) Programme at the Family Support Programme (FSP) Clinic in Uyoo.
