The Socio – Economic Rights And Accountability Project, SERAP, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, legal & advocacy organisation devoted to promoting transparency, accountability and respect for socio-economic rights in Nigeria, has threatened to sued the Akwa Ibom State government and the Buhari government over the unlawful detention of human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong
IDOMA VOICE reports that Inibehe Effiong was detained on Wednesday for contempt of court.
It tweeted, “BREAKING: We’re suing Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Buhari administration over the unlawful detention of human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong, and the apparent misuse of the justice system.”
