Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved financial autonomy for both the legislative and judiciary branches of government.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Tersoo Kula, disclosed this to journalists at the Government House, Makurdi, on Thursday.
He stated that the decision was reached during the state’s Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday.
Mr. Kula emphasized that Governor Alia remains steadfast in his commitment to infrastructural development, timely payment of salaries, and pensions, affirming that these priorities will continue to receive primary attention from the administration.
Kula revealed the government’s intention to establish the Benue Subnational Fund, aimed at saving for future contingencies.
