Report reaching our news desk has it that there was another tanker explosion at Oshigbudu community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State at the early hours of Tuesday.
IDOMA TV reports that the incident came barely 48 hours after a tanker fully loaded with petroleum product fell and went up in flames, killing over 13 people and destroying properties worth millions of naira.
Report says another tanker loaded with petrol fell around 4am on Tuesday and exploded, just few kilometers away from the scene of the last incident.
The fire also destroyed many buildings and several properties.
Meanwhile, the senator representing Benue South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Comrade Abba Moro, on Monday paid a commiseration and on-the-spot-assessment visit to the scene of the tanker explosion at Oshigbudu, in Agatu, to see things for himself and commiserate with those affected.
Addressing the people, Senator Moro who spoke in a sotto voice, said he was pained by the incident.
He said he had to rush down to see things for himself and see how he could come in to help those affected by the unfortunate incident.
Similarly, the member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency, Hon. Samuel Odagboyi Godday was at Oshigbudu community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State in the early hours of Monday to visit and sympathize with the victims as well as carry out on the spot assessment of Sunday’s inferno resulting from the explosion of a tanker conveying petroleum products along the Oweto-Abuja road.
While praying for eternal peace upon the fallen citizens, the Honourable Member expressed his deepest sympathy towards the bereaved families as well as those whose properties and means of livelihood were destroyed.
