Naija News learnt the kidnappers whisked away the traditional ruler of Umuezeala-Ama Autonomous Community in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, Eze Aloysius Igwe.
The monarch was reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday around the Nkwo-Umuezeala market square in the village when he went to pick up his wife who was attending a meeting around the area.
It was gathered that the gunmen double-crossed the monarch’s vehicle and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
This development makes it the fourth traditional ruler to have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in the South-East state.
Recall that the traditional ruler of Atta kingdom in the Njaba Local Government Area of the state, Edwin Azike, was kidnapped and later murdered.
Also, the traditional ruler of Mbutu village in Aboh Mbaise LGA, HRH Damian Nwaigwe, was kidnapped and later freed.
Another abducted monarch, Eze Paul Ogbu of Ihitte Ihube in Okigwe LGA is yet to be released, but his counterpart, Eze Acho Ndukwe of Amagu Ihube was released on Monday.
