Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has condemned the attack on the Makurdi residence of the All Progressives Congress, APC State Chairman, Comrade Abba Yaro by some hoodlums.
Governor Ortom made the condemnation today during a visit to the chairman’s residence where irate youths destroyed property including vehicles in protest over the death of a guard in the APC Chairman’s house who was electrocuted while trying to cut down tree branches alleged to have made contact with electric wires.
The Governor advised the youth to seek nonviolent ways of resolving issues and to involve law enforcement agencies when the need arises, stressing that violent actions could sometimes have grave consequences.
Governor Ortom who commiserated with the family of the young man who was electrocuted, later addressed the youth at Kucha Utebe after a sympathy visit on Abba Yaro.
Comrade Abba Yaro thanked the Governor for his quick intervention and prompt visit to sympathise with him even though they belong to different political parties, saying it shows qualities of a good leader.
