The Benue State House of Assembly on Monday, 2023 confirmed Governor Hyacinth Alia’s nominees for the local government’s caretaker committees.
In the voice question put by the speaker, Honorable Aondona Dajoh the house confirmed 21 nominees while two failed. those nominated for Agatu and Oju local governments were dropped by the Assembly.
In a related development, Four Honorable members of the 10th Benue Assembly were suspended for three months for constituting a clog in the way of the smooth running of the legislative business of the House.
The suspended members are, Honorable Solomon Gyila, representing Gwer West State Constituency, and Honorable Douglass Akya, member representing Makurdi South, Rt. Honorable Dyako Ashwa, Member representing Konshisha state constituency, and Honorable Anthony Agom of Okpokwu state Constituency.
The motion for their suspension was moved by the majority leader of the House, Honorable Saater Tiseer, and seconded by Honorable Peter Ipusu of Katsina-Alaa West State constituency.
The house adjourned to tomorrow, 5th December 2023 for legislative business.
