BREAKING: Benue govt sends thugs, policemen after protesting pensioners (PHOTOS)

In an apparent show of power and heartlessness, the government of Benue State has allegedly sent thugs and heavily armed policemen after the protesting pensioners at the gate of the Government House, Makurdi.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the senior citizens have been sleeping in front of the government house in protest over their unpaid 25 months pension arrears and gratuity.

However, in a display of arrogance, the government reportedly sent some hoodlums after the protesting pensioners and ordered them to vacate the premises within two hours.

A citizen report, Ukeyima Ukmoni, who witnessed the drama, said some heavily armed police men have stormed the venue and ordered the aged citizens to leave.

He wrote, “I just disguised myself using a car they don’t know me with and took some photo shots at the same time I was driving.

“I saw more than a thousand youths station from Central Bank Junction down to Benue State Government House Gate up till Royal Choice Inn Junction that have given our fathers and mothers, the pensioners ultimatum to leave the Government House Gate this morning.

“I saw police hilux vans with a lot of mobile police men blocking the entrance of Benue State Government House.
